Business Development Manager
Location: Hybrid (50% travel across WA, OR, and Northern CA)
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and results-drivenBusiness Development Managerto identify and engage prospective commercial clients within our target market sectors. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for relationship-building and a strong understanding of the commercial construction or flooring industry.
You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities through outbound outreach, qualifying leads, and facilitating discovery meetings. Additionally, you will support marketing initiatives, maintain CRM accuracy, and contribute to long-term pipeline development.
Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct market research to identify and target prospective commercial clients.
+ Initiate outbound outreach via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and networking events.
+ Qualify leads based on project scope, budget, decision-maker involvement, and timeline.
+ Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings with sales and technical teams.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
+ Build and manage a robust pipeline of future business opportunities.
+ Post weekly industry-related content on LinkedIn to enhance brand visibility.
+ Support biannual architect lunch and learn sessions with partner suppliers.
+ Distribute quarterly e-blasts to existing clients.
+ Update website content and project portfolios on a quarterly basis.
+ Submit weekly activity reports and participate in regular pipeline review meetings.
Required Qualifications
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or lead generation, preferably in commercial flooring, construction, or facilities management.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proven ability to conduct cold calls and unscripted drop-ins.
+ Self-motivated, curious, and goal-oriented with a strong work ethic.
+ Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Willingness to travel up to 50% across WA, OR, and Northern CA.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of commercial flooring products and industry trends.
+ Experience in sales management and strategic prospecting.
+ Strong customer service orientation.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role requiring frequent travel to client sites, networking events, and trade shows across the Pacific Northwest and Northern California. When not traveling, the role is based out of a designated office location within the region.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
