Equipment Technician**
**Job Description**
The Equipment Technician is responsible for loading and unloading equipment, performing basic preventative maintenance, and executing minor repairs efficiently and safely to minimize equipment downtime.
**Responsibilities**
+ Load and unload equipment.
+ Perform basic preventative maintenance.
+ Execute minor repairs.
+ Ensure safe and effective handling of equipment to minimize downtime.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1-3 years of experience or familiarity with repairing and maintaining Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment and accessories.
+ Basic knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater, HVAC, and Diesel-driven Pumps.
+ Understanding of diesel equipment, electronics, and hydraulics.
+ Operational process/system aptitude.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ EPA Universal certification.
+ Troubleshooting skills.
+ Knowledge in preventative maintenance.
+ Ability to work with generators, hydraulics, and electronics.

**Work Environment**
This role involves physical demands such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more. Work will be conducted indoors and outdoors, starting at the Chesapeake location, and then transitioning to the Newport News Shipyard. Reasonable accommodations will be made to comply with applicable laws. The work environment includes maintaining rental HVAC equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
