The employee provides skilled journeyman level work in the installation, replacement, alteration, adjustment, repair, and planned maintenance necessary to maintain reliable and functionally efficient operations of electrical lighting, generation, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), variable frequency drive (VFD), motor control center (MCC), power distribution, fire alarm systems, building automation, instrumentation and control systems, fixtures and equipment.
QualificationsEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two (2) years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university; or three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional three (3) years of related experience at an electrician journeyman level.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued Unlimited Journeyman Electrician’s License. Must obtain CPR within 6 months of hire.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be knowledgeable of Occupational Safety and Health Administration codes and proficient in the use of tools common to the electrical trade.

Special vision requirements for this position are color vision and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather related), extreme heat (non-weather related), and the risk of electrical shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
