Worker will be required to perform a variety such as: Record information
about crops; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting;
Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment;
Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment; Inform farm
managers of crop progress; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to
determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers;
Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery
(much of which is\
equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant,
cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as rice, corn, soybeans; Clean
work areas and maintain grounds; Feel plants\' leaves and note their
coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; Maintain
inventory; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to
condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other\
structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or
sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Guide products on
conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items;
Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and
close full containers; speak and understand English.
In view of the statutorily established basic function of the ES as a
no-fee labor exchange, that is, as a forum for bringing together
employers and job seekers, neither the ETA nor the SWAs are guarantors
of the accuracy or truthfulness of information contained on job orders
submitted by employers. Nor does any job order accepted or recruited
upon by the ES constitute a contractual job offer to which the ETA or a
SWA is in any way a party
