Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Engineer will lead the completion of assigned projects while maintaining and improving client relationships. As a lead, the role involves creating Statements of Work (SOW), writing scopes, handling budgets, and managing a team of engineers. The position requires managing priorities among the team and overseeing the work of four team members. Additionally, the engineer will support protection relay settings for various projects including substations, transmission lines, and distribution, as well as conducting electrical studies for utilities and commercial/industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned projects and maintain/improve client relationships.
- Create Statements of Work, write scopes, and manage budgets.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, overseeing priorities and quality of work.
- Support protection relay settings for substation, transmission line, and distribution projects.
- Conduct electrical studies for utilities and commercial/industrial sectors.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Five or more years of industry experience performing studies in technical disciplines.
- EIT certification and eligibility to sit for the PE Exam, with the ability to attain PE within a year.
- Expertise in protective relaying: short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis.
- Proficiency in applicable software: AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electrical engineering, protection, relay settings.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and arc flash analysis.
Work Environment
The position allows for remote work but requires residence in Colorado. The engineer should be able to come into the office once or twice a month, with typical in-office days being Tuesday through Thursday. The protection team consists of 30 members nationwide.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
PTO: Includes holidays, vacation (up to 20 days/year), and sick leave (7 days/year).
