Tyler Union, a division of McWane Inc, the nation's leading manufacturer of Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings and Appurtenances, has an immediate opening for a Preventive Maintenance (PM) Reliability Supervisor for its Anniston Operations.
The PM Reliability Supervisor is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the preventive maintenance and reliability programs for all plant equipment and utilities. This role is critical to reducing equipment downtime, increasing asset reliability, and improving maintenance efficiency. The supervisor will lead PM strategy, root cause analysis, failure review processes, and spare parts coordination. Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following:
- Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
- Wears appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
- Proactively promotes The McWane Way principles.
- Lead the development and execution of a plant-wide preventive maintenance strategy.
- Supervise the CMMS Administrator to ensure accuracy of work orders, schedules, and equipment data.
- Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures and implements corrective actions to eliminate recurrence.
- Define asset criticality and appropriate maintenance intervals based on risk, usage, and history.
- Monitor PM compliance, backlog, and KPIs such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Collaborate with purchasing, stores, and maintenance teams to ensure appropriate spare parts availability.
- Oversee post-maintenance reviews and refine PM procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Safety teams to ensure alignment on reliability initiatives.
- Develop training programs for maintenance technicians to support PM best practices.
- Utilize CMMS data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and drive decisions.
- Support audits, capital planning, and maintenance budgeting related to reliability improvements.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises CMMS Administrator and others as assigned. Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's degree in engineering; relevant preventive maintenance/program reliability experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Five years' experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or reliability-focused role.
- Verifiable understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance practices and reliability engineering tools (e.g., RCA, FMEA, TPM, RCM).
- Proficiency in using CMMS systems and maintenance analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive cross-functional projects, and implement sustainable improvements.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body include climbing, lifting to 50 pounds, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling tools and materials.
- The work environment varies from a typical office setting to a plant environment that may be hot, cold, dusty, and noisy. It is a requirement to be in and out of the plant on a regular basis. As necessary, must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
