Job SummaryMust be able to perform diversified welding operations to produce SSCs. This position requires extreme attention to details and a thorough knowledge of the work procedures and component applications. This person will be responsible for producing high quality component welds on stacked stator cores.

Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Read a tape measure

Weld SSC using MIG & TIG robotic equipment and spot weld techniques

Comply with company quality and safety guidelines

Perform other duties as prescribed by supervisor

Work well with others

Do visual inspection of parts and detect defects

Read prints and related work instructions

Maintain a clean and orderly work area

COMPETENCIES/TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:Minimum

Strong attention to detail

Self motivated

Dependability

MIG & TIG Welding - in a production environment

Read blueprints and process instructions

Basic Computer Skills

Operate hand grinder, chamfer machine and arbor extractor

Operate Fork Lift

Preferred

Ability to work independently

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous employment in manufacturing

Ability to work in a team oriented setting

Good communication skills both verbal and written
