Haul Truck Operator | $27-30hr | Benefits Included | OT Available**
**Job Description**
Operate heavy earth-moving equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, mining trucks, and scrapers for heavy civil and earthmoving projects on a surface mine. You will be responsible for moving material and conducting site preparation, ensuring equipment is used effectively and safely.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate heavy earth-moving equipment for surface mine projects, including dozers, excavators, loaders, mining trucks, and scrapers.
+ Perform proper equipment startup and shutdown procedures along with daily servicing of equipment.
+ Operate within acceptable range of all gauges on the instrumentation panel.
+ Practice defensive driving and operating at all times.
+ Understand the basic mechanical workings of heavy equipment to prevent damage.
+ Operate equipment properly within tolerances and perform preventative maintenance and servicing as needed.
+ Work with GPS units in the equipment effectively.
+ Respond to emergencies and unpredictable situations knowledgeably.
+ Recognize unsafe and adverse conditions and correct them appropriately.
+ Collaborate with other equipment operators safely and efficiently.
+ Assist in water management activities, reclamation, load/haul, construction, and maintenance activities as necessary.
+ Perform utility work and operate utility equipment.
+ Assist the maintenance department with routine repairs.
+ Keep supervisor informed of any potential problems.
+ Undertake other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, loaders, and mining trucks.
+ Proficiency in heavy equipment operation, including GPS and front-end loader.
+ Knowledge in excavation, grading, earthworks, bulldozer, scraper, dump truck, and haul truck operations.
+ Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform diesel engine repair and maintenance.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Two years' experience operating heavy off-road construction equipment preferred.
+ Experience on heavy highway and heavy civil projects.
+ Willingness to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and weekends.
