**Senior Structural Engineer**

**Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities**

POWER Engineers, member of WSP is seeking a competent, experienced structural engineer to assist our Civil-Structural-Architectural team. This position will be a full-time position. The qualified candidate will have extensive experience with structural design, building codes, and construction procedures. The position will require the individual to execute projects, perform calculations, produce specifications, develop design drawings, review vendor submittals, and respond to requests for information. The candidate will be expected to communicate directly with the client. Therefore they must have a strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communication skills. Minimal travel should be expected.

**Required Education/Experience**

+ Eight (8) + years of structural design experience in heavy industry, electrical power infrastructure, or plant building design

+ Licensed Professional Engineer, P.E.

+ Familiarity with basic project management skills including: scheduling, sequencing, budgeting, and coordinating multiple stakeholders

+ Strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communication skills

+ Ability to develop strong client relationships, write proposals, and manage projects from a technical and administrative perspective

+ Ability to coordinate technical issues with internal and external engineers, designers, drafters, and customer representatives

+ Must be able to successfully pass the client's background screening process

+ Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

**Desired Education/Experience**

+ Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering or a similar degree from an ABET-accredited university

+ Twelve (12) + years of structural design experience in heavy industry, electrical power infrastructure, or plant building design

+ Prior project management experience with energy industry projects

+ Experience using engineering analysis software STAAD PRO, RISA, SAP 2000, L-Pile, and Mathcad.

+ Experience using production tools Revit, AutoCAD, or Navisworks

+ Strong understanding of seismic, wind, rotating equipment, and loading behavior

+ Licensed Structural Engineer, SE
