About the Role:

The primary mission of this position is to coordinate with project teams and internal staff to achieve a n accurate asset registry , the foundation of all successful asset management programs. To achieve this goal you will be inspecting all elements of construction projects related to assets and asset attribute data. You will also work closely with operations, maintenance, and reliability engineering staff to assist them with communicating updates to the asset registry throughout assets' lifecycle.

About the Team:

The primary focus of the Asset Management team is to monitor asset related risk and work to employ mitigation strategies under guidance of the Strategic Asset Management Plan. Our team of energetic subject matter experts are involved with quality control of asset data, conformance of capital projects with all asset management specifications, management of the Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo) data base, retrieval of asset data in support of capital projects, managing the asset condition assessment program and providing input to the asset renewal forecast model supporting long and short range rate projections.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist with implementation of the strategic asset management plan. Specific tasks include:

    • Research and validate physical asset inventory against facility drawings
    • Validate asset attributes in the Enterprise Asset Management System ( EAMS) and update as required
    • Assist with asset field tagging as needed
  • Perform various asset related field inspection duties for current and past projects. Work with King County engineering, O perations and Maintenance (O&M) staff a nd facilities inspection personnel to determine asset data inspection needs; coordinate inspections with project managers or other persons supervising work for the contractor and contracting agency to support the collection of required asset data
  • Monitor interactions with the asset registry by projects or operations and maintenance staff. Perform quality control checks on data and verify adherence to approved workflows designed to maintain accuracy of asset data
  • Gather and record asset lifecycle data. Assist with analysis of data and record results of inspection activity in support of future capital projects and Asset Refurbishment and Replacement (AR&R) needs
  • Assist with asset physical condition assessments
  • Vocal advocate for asset management practices and program goals defined in the SAMP
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Qualifications You Bring:

  • Ability to locate asset Bill of Material information through the use of OEM manuals and online resources
  • Knowledge of municipal wastewater treatment plant processes and conveyance systems
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Demonstrated ability to locate assets throughout WTDs conveyance system and treatment plants
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately populate asset data collection forms using approved software and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately populate and route asset retirement and property loss / theft forms
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with project managers, construction managers, engineers and O&M staff to collect appropriate asset life cycle and attribute data
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people with varying and sometimes conflicting interests
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong Asset Management (AM) working knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Working Conditions:

  • Work Location: Brightwater Treatment Plant - 22505 WA-9, Woodinville, WA 98072. Brightwater Treatment Plan and East Offsite Facilities or as assigned
  • Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible
  • Union Representation: This position is represented by the King County Technical Employees' Association (TEA) bargaining unit
