Responsibilities:
  • Field measurements and stakeout of survey projects
  • Boundary surveying, construction surveying/stakeout, R/W surveying, engineering surveys, and all other tasks typically associated with land surveying and engineering projects
  • Operation of total stations, GPS systems, and field computers
  • Installation of survey monuments and markers according to the company and the individual clients standards
  • Cutting, blazing, and painting boundary/easement lines
  • Accurate record keeping of all survey measurements and staked points
  • Reduction of survey field data, error analysis, and GPS post-processing
  • CAD plotting of field data and preparation of preliminary worksheets, engineering drawings, and survey plats
  • Conduct records research at the town, county, and state archives
  • Complete other land surveying/engineering field and office tasks as needed
  • Coordinating with Horizons project managers to understand the work scope
  • Assistance with developing project budgets and client proposals
  • Mentoring and/or training junior or entry-level survey technicians
  • Test pit observation and septic design
  • CAD drafting and civil design under the direction of licensed staff using AutoCAD Civil 3D


Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or 2 years of experience preferred
  • NH SIT Certification or actively working toward obtaining NH licensure
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the practice of land surveying in northern New England
  • Experience with AutoCAD design software, including Civil3D
  • The ability to complete field work, including carrying equipment 50-80 lbs with or without accommodations, cutting traverse lines, and walking on undeveloped sites. sampling, well installation, product recovery, remedial system O&M, various remedial actions, data evaluation, and report writing
  • A valid drivers license and reliable transportation are required
