ResponsibilitiesKey Accountabilities:
Perform a wide range of duties required to install, seal, assemble, inspect, test, system/payload components required to complete installation of modules. Capture, translate, validate or provide measurement data to meet engineering intent and top level requirements to assure quality products. Tasks performed will require continuous improvement of overall efficiencies such as, but not limited to, product conveyance and multi-tasking where applicable. Perform work activity in a delivery/completion center customer minded environment. Provide high-level technical support and leadership relative to assembly and installation.
- Installs, adjusts and validates modules and components required for all systems/payload installations.
- Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, etc.
- Work with blueprints, WHIDS, changes, specifications, work orders, etc. to assemble and install to quality requirements parts and assemblies.
- Utilize Virtual Manufacturing Tools to validate the processes.
- Report and/or investigate job handicaps such as: errors in parts, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
- Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including across isle, using shop assigned equipment as required and complete transactions necessary to move product to the next operation. On an exception basis, move product to the next operation within a building.
- Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching and assisting employees of all classification levels.
- Document any discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure.
- Verify dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools. Installs sub-assemblies, assemble and install structure fillet and fay, apply leveling compound.
- Operate shop sewing machine to perform rework on aircraft insulation blankets an installation.
- Assist laser measurement team by positioning of laser measurement equipment.
- Maintains personal certifications required to perform duties above.
Qualifications
Required:
- Possess 6+ months of aircraft structural sheet metal experience (or have successfully completed Aero Structural Training) OR will also consider previous, relevant and transferable experience requiring the use of power and/or hand tools
- All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift.
