Install machinery and equipment in industrial establishment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of Millwright include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow all safety guidelines, policies and procedures as required for the job daily.
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain functional parts of mechanical equipment, machinery and plant utility systems.
  • Install, fabricate or erect machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints or other specifications.
  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders and drill presses to make, fit, assemble or repair metal or nonmetal parts, mechanisms or components.
  • Weld or cut metal parts as specified by layout, diagram or work order.
  • Remove and change motors, gear heads or other components of various equipment or machinery.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle machines. Move machinery and equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails.
  • Construct foundation for machines. Align machines and equipment.
  • Assemble machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
  • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • If mill is down, assist in whatever way possible until the mill is running again.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability of read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to
