What youll do:

  • Manage and administer Cisco HyperFlex clusters and VMware vSphere infrastructure across all data center locations.
  • Continuously monitor system health and virtual machine performance using vCenter and UCS Manager.
  • Plan and implement timely patching of HyperFlex and VMware hosts to uphold system security and compliance.
  • Provision and manage virtual machines, datastores, and virtual networking in VMware environments.
  • Execute full lifecycle disaster recovery tests, including VM failover and rollback procedures in Andover, MA.
  • Perform root cause analysis and incident resolution for virtualization infrastructure issues.
  • Develop and maintain capacity plans for CPU, memory, and storage resources across all clusters.
  • Implement and test backup, snapshot, and recovery configurations for business continuity.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure, networking, and application teams to support service uptime.
  • Document system changes, patch schedules, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Support automation initiatives to streamline virtual server lifecycle management.
  • Analyze logs, alerts, and performance metrics to proactively identify and address issues.
  • Ensure compliance with security and patch management policies across all virtual machines.
  • Assist with system migrations, server provisioning, and decommissioning tasks in VMware.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve infrastructure-related incidents impacting availability.
  • Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and conduct DR testing activities.

What do you need?

  • 5+ years of experience supporting VMware infrastructure, with at least 2 years in Cisco HyperFlex environments.
  • Hands-on experience with vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and UCS Manager.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and storage/data replication within hyperconverged infrastructure.
  • Experience performing disaster recovery and business continuity tests.
  • Knowledge of scripting tools like PowerCLI or Python for automation.
  • Understanding of network integration with virtual environments (VLANs, vSwitches, Distributed Switches).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across storage, compute, and networking layers.
  • Ability to document, communicate, and collaborate in a team-based, enterprise IT environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware VCP, Cisco HyperFlex Specialist, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Bachelors degree in information technology or related field preferred

Technology Skills:

  • VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and UCS Manager.
  • Cisco HyperFlex cluster operations and administration.
  • PowerCLI and Python scripting for task automation.
  • Backup and disaster recovery platforms (e.g., Veeam, Zerto).
  • Network concepts for virtualization: VLANs, vSwitch, dvSwitch.
  • Performance monitoring tools (e.g., vROps, SolarWinds).
  • Patch management tools and methods for virtualization infrastructure.
  • Experience with ITIL processes for change and incident management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and audit support within infrastructure teams.
