Structural Design Engineer

A mid-level Structural Design Engineer job in Devens, MA is currently available at Belcan. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field, preferably Mechanical, and at least 5 years of mechanical design experience.

Engineers will be involved in completing various design tasks supporting the development of clean fusion energy technologies and support equipment. Designers will take ownership of design tasks from start to finish, interface with internal customers and stakeholders, regularly, implement process and productivity improvements for existing hardware, and apply unique solutions to meet hardware usage, fabrication, assembly, and testing requirements. Designers are expected to regularly communicate progress and statuses and work with other team members to ensure consistent work and quality.

Required:

o Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.

o 5+ years of design experience in a mechanical based industry such as oil/gas, wind turbines, nuclear, and industrial equipment.

o Candidate must have Siemens NX CAD modeling and drafting experience.

o Candidate must have excellent mechanical aptitude skills.

o Candidate must be able to excel in a fast-moving manufacturing and assembly environment.

o Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

o Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.

Preferred:

o Experience designing and/or manufacturing tooling and support hardware for a variety of end usages.

o Experience with related disciplines such as the incorporation and/or design of electrical, magnetic, thermal, and fluid systems into structures.

o Knowledge of large mechanical systems and assembly/disassembly processes

o Experience creating and/or reviewing Ansys structural analysis packages as well as engineering hand calculations for structural acceptability.

o Familiarity with fusion energy technologies.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $95,000-$120,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
