General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for overseeing and conducting all maintenance tasks at Wilbur-Ellis Rangen in Buhl, ID. The position will be responsible for fabrication, electrical, preventive maintenance, and other maintenance tasks that are necessary to keep each facility running at optimal capacity and efficiency. This position will be the main point of contact for operations staff to solve problems with equipment and building issues.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or other related fields, with an Associate Degree or Technical Degree in a pertinent field, a bonus

Working knowledge of manufacturing environments or other manufacturing experience

General understanding of Preventive Maintenance programs and how to implement these in a manufacturing facility

Ability to multitask and problem-solve in manufacturing environments

Experience using Microsoft computer products

Ability to implement and oversee company policy

Ability to evaluate mechanical issues and implement solutions

Ability to lift to 55 lbs.

Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and stairs, with no fear of heights

Comfortable working in narrow and confined spaces, with no claustrophobia

Preferred- experience and skills in many facets of industrial operations, including welding, electrical, bearings, chains, shafts, belts, electric motors, etc.

Preferred Skills or Certifications:

Welding certifications, electrical certifications

Mechanical knowledge of processing equipment such as mixers, screw conveyors, hammer mills, grain legs

Strong communication skills to connect effectively with operations staff

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables:

Oversee and conduct all maintenance tasks

Work with location management personnel to coordinate major equipment repair

Coordinate preventative maintenance programs to meet mechanical needs and ensure compliance with quality standards

Ability to work off-hours when needed, including but not limited to nights and weekends. This entails carrying an on-call phone and answering when called.

Willingness to occasionally work extended shifts to get breakdowns and special projects completed.

Confer with operations management teams as it pertains to equipment breakdowns and potential issues with facilities.

Handle fabrication duties for various small projects within each facility

Follow up on any and all corrective actions that require maintenance oversite

Respond quickly to emergency maintenance situations and provide contractor oversite when needed to provide a solution

Work directly with contractors to ensure 3rd party work is completed safely and meets quality specifications

Oversee and manage equipment list and assess new equipment for preventative maintenance needs and failure points

Assist safety and quality teams when needed to ensure compliance with regulatory rules and regulations

Serve as member of Food Safety Team.

Participate in any and all training that is required for the role

Responsible for reporting mechanical and electrical problems to management, up to and including stopping a production line.

Ensure compliance with all Food Safety Guidelines, FDA and OSHA guidelines, as well as Federal and State laws governing the workplace.

Compensation and Benefits:

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $23.03- $30.73 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
