Collins Aerospace is seeking a Chief Project Engineer to lead technical efforts within our Engine Controls & Accessories team. In this key customer-facing role, you will serve as the primary technical contact for General Electric (GE) , ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with customer priorities. Youll manage risks, integrate lessons learned, and present to both internal leaders and GE executives, helping drive innovative aerospace solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate and support the preparation of accurate B asis of Estimate (BOEs) for new proposals, ensuring tim ely su bmission to the GE customer.

  • Communicate effectively with the customer Value Stream team, Executive leaders, and GE customer stakeholders across Windsor Locks, CT; Rockford, IL; and West Des Moines, IA, covering products such as Electronic Engine Controls, Hydro-Mechanical Controls, Pneumatic Valves, Gearbox, Fuel and Oil Pumps, Air Turbine Starter, and Engine Fuel Nozzle.

  • Provide leadership in the execution of all design, development, and sustainment activities, including field support, following RLPM tools and integrating lessons learned.

  • Guide and direct the component Project Engineer and Integrated Product Team (IPT) to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

  • Contribute to Development Plans and manage program development within approved budget and schedule allocations.

  • Review and manage key program activities including risk management tracking and reporting, earned value performance, resource management, action item capture and closure, and IPT meetings.

  • Capture the Voice of the Customer to identify priorities, risks, and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation and contingency plans are in place.

  • Collaborate closely with GE counterparts to remove roadblocks and align on priorities.

  • Serve as an escalation point both internally and with the GE customer to address critical issues promptly.

  • Influence and validate the technical Most Important Requirements (MIRs) that drive technology roadmaps for product lines.

  • Lead cross-SBU strategic coordination to identify opportunities for bundling offerings and maximizing value.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with aerospace systems and components, including Electronic and Hydro-Mechanical Controls, Pneumatic Valves, Gearboxes, Fuel and Oil Pumps, Air Turbine Starters, and Engine Fuel Nozzles.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects or programs across the full product lifecycle.

  • Strong background in the design, development, certification, and support of aerospace components, including field investigations and issue resolution.

  • Skilled in managing and tracking project requirements to ensure alignment with technical and customer objectives .

  • Demonstrated ability to present complex technical and program information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences, including customers, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
