LOCAL SHIPYARD LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED SHIP FITTERS & PIPE FITTERS FOR NIGHT SHIFT WORK!!

Job Summary
Shipyard Fitters are responsible for fitting and assembling steel structures for marine vessels, including tugboats, push boats, and small barges. This role requires expertise in handling steel components and conducting precise welding for hull replacements and other structural projects. The Fitter will be expected to perform project preparations, material handling, cutting, and inspection, ensuring that all assembled parts meet high safety and quality standards.

Requirements:
Minimum 1+ year experience as 1st class ship fitter
Must know Ship terminology
Must lay out and fabricate parts for ships
Must be able to burn, wash and bevel with a hand torch
Must pass a drug test and physical
Must pass a drug test and physical
Read and interpret blueprint and specifications.
Measure, cut, fit, and install structural /pipe plate, pipe material, beams, plate, pipe, etc., per blueprint and job specifications
