The Role We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our Minor Works Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out carpentry work across a variety of projects and locations, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and professionalism are consistently maintained. Key Responsibilities Interpret and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications. Install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, framing, flooring, staircases, and partitions. Measure, cut, and shape wood, and other materials. Build, assemble, and dismantle temporary frameworks such as shuttering or formwork. Carry out repairs and maintenance work as needed. Work alongside other tradespeople on-site to complete project tasks. Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times. Travel between various sites as required, with flexibility to adapt to changing project demands. Health & Safety Responsibilities Promote a positive health and safety culture across the site. Enforce compliance with company H&S policies and UK legislation (e.g., CDM Regulations 2015). Report all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the Site Manager. Ensure PPE requirements, method statements and risk assessments are maintained at all times. What We're Looking For Essential: NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent qualification. Experience with both first and second fix carpentry. Demonstrable experience in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong working knowledge of construction methods and trades. Valid CSCS card. Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Good organisational skills with attention to detail. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: PASMA/IPAF certification is an advantage. NVQ Level 3/Apprenticeship or above in a relevant construction trade. Experience working on residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects. SSSTS certification (or willingness to obtain). First Aid at Work qualification.
