MGH-Salvage and Repair Operator

The Salvage & Repair position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.

• Must be able to determine whether tank is salvageable.
• Arc or gas weld tank leaks if salvageable.
• Tap out fittings where tanks are damaged.
• Must be able to determine whether or not an application of epoxy on bare spots is allowed, if applicable repairman will epoxy damaged area.
• Must be able to burn with cutting torch-damaged fittings and prepare tanks for rework if applicable.
• New fittings may need grinding and/or reaming.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
• Observe all departmental safety requirements.
• Maintain quality standards according to specifications.
• Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
• Work from written or verbal orders.
• Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
• May be exposed to high noise levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• The following skills will be tested: Lift truck, Observation of Welding skills.
• Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs.
• Frequent lifting of 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting of 60+ lbs.
