Otak CPM is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Project Management, Construction Management, and Owners Representative business group in the Salem-Central Willamette Valley area. You will collaborate with a talented regional team to serve marquis key clients in K-12, higher education, healthcare and public work. This position will be based out of our Salem, OR office and will require occasional travel.
What you'll do:
- Provide strategic leadership, defining project and program principles, mission, and goals in alignment with client initiatives.
- Lead projects to successful completion, ensuring adherence to financial objectives.
- Manages a project portfolio at or exceeding $50M in scope and with potential to provide oversight for multiple concurrent projects while serving as primary client liaison.
- Ensures project scope, budget, and schedule adherence, balancing competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Directs large-scale, complex projects requiring specialized skills, collaborative interdisciplinary coordination, and public engagement.
- Develops work plans, schedules, and budgets, turning client visions into actionable plans while advising on methodologies and risks.
- Supervises and coaches junior staff in the development of project reports, risk logs, and decision matrices; facilitates executive-level discussions and public engagement as needed.
- Serves as direct Client point of contact and mentoring and managing project managers and project coordinators.
- Participates in business development efforts by contributing to identification of service opportunities, qualifying leads, positioning internal teams, defining consulting scopes, forecasting resources, and collaborating with Client Service Manager and marketing staff on RFP submissions.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in a construction, technical or design related field, with at least 10 years of experience in Owner's Representation/Project Management.
- Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) and/or PM Certificate desirable.
- Demonstrated successful experience in the management of budgets, schedules, procurement, site logistics (e.g. FF&E/move management), and change management.
- OSHA 10 certification preferable.
- Knowledge of alternative forms of project delivery including CM/GC, GC/CM, CM at Risk, Design Build, and P3.
- Experience with project management systems such as E-Builder, Procore, Primavera, Smartsheet, and SharePoint.
- Working knowledge and understanding of ORS279A, B & C.
- Competency with public speaking acumen, including but not limited to having executive level conversations, facilitating effective decision making and engagement/report out with clients executives, public committees and governance structures.
