A Senior Electrical Engineer is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering in the Jamaica, NY area. This role focuses on designing low voltage power systems, preparing documentation, and coordinating with other teams while ensuring NEC compliance. location: Jamaica, New York job type: Contract salary: $43 - 55 per hour work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors responsibilities: Design low voltage power distribution systems.Prepare single line diagrams and wiring diagrams under the supervision of an experienced engineer.Coordinate design with other disciplines (civil, architectural, mechanical, structural).Adhere to company policy for accurate project documentation.Complete assignments such as drawings, specifications, and materials for procurement and construction, utilizing CAE/CAD tools.Prepare engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.Create requisitions for low voltage equipment and materials.Size conduit, conductors, and overcurrent protection devices per National Electric Code (NEC). Desired Skills: Experience in engineering consulting for federal agencies.Knowledge of FAA standards and specifications.Familiarity with construction practices and safe work procedures.Problem-solving skills to find mutually beneficial solutions.Experience with lightning and grounding protection.Proficiency in Bluebeam.Proficiency in SKM, with the ability to perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analyses.
