A locally owned and operated excavation company serving the Flathead Valley and surrounding areas is hiring an Experienced Pipe Layer. This role involves the installation of underground utilities, including storm, sewer, and water systems. Candidates must have experience in pipe laying for excavation or utility projects and be skilled in reading plans, grading trenches, and working safely around heavy equipment. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of installation standards are key to success in this physically demanding, field-based position.

Pay: $25 to $28/hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Full-time, seasonal position with potential for year-round employment

Essential Functions and Duties:

Install various types and sizes of underground pipe according to plans and specifications

Grade and level trenches using laser levels and other equipment

Check slopes and alignment for proper installation

Work closely with equipment operators and foremen to ensure safe and efficient operations

Backfill trenches and compact soil to the required density

Follow all safety procedures and company policies on the job site

Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in pipe laying and underground utility installation

Strong knowledge of trench safety and pipe installation standards

Ability to read and understand blueprints, grades, and elevations

Experience working around heavy equipment in an active construction site

Reliable transportation and valid driver's license

Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor
