Shop Tech (Mechanic's Assistant)

Groundworks is seeking talented Shop Technicians (Mechanic's Assistant) to join our tribe in Columbia, SC!

We are looking for entry level Shop Technicians who are eager to learn and contribute to our warehouse operation. You will have the opportunity to work on various tasks, such as assisting the mechanic in repairing industrial equipment, packaging and palletizing materials for shipment, operating machines (bandsaw, pipe crimping, sleeve flaring), and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.

Warehouse experience is required. We will provide you with the training and support you need to succeed in this role and provide cross-training opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Packaging and palletizing materials for shipment

• Machine operation (bandsaw, pipe crimping, sleeve flaring) - will train!

• Housekeeping/organization of the warehouse as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid driver's license & reliable transportation

• Must be authorized to work in the United States

• Some experience working in a warehouse and/or fleet management environment

• Ability to maintain a safe, clean warehouse work environment

• Ability to obtain OSHA certification

Physical Requirements

Standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing and pulling, driving, sitting, and lifting

Working Conditions

Material Handlers will be in a metal fabrication and warehouse environment
