AV Solutions Design Engineer Hybrid - Wilmington, MA Full-Time | AV Engineering Team Reports to: Sales Engineering Manager About the Role We're hiring an experienced AV Solutions Design Engineer to join our AV Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who has a proven track record designing AV systems and supporting the pre-sales processfrom client discovery through solution development and technical presentations. You'll work closely with sales, project management, and technical teams to deliver innovative, scalable AV solutions for modern workplace environments. What You'll Do Lead Technical Discovery: Participate in early-stage client meetings to gather requirements, assess needs, and define solution scope. Conduct Site Surveys: Perform on-site evaluations to inform system design and infrastructure planning. Design AV Systems: Create detailed AV designs for conference rooms, huddle spaces, and collaboration environments using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Crestron, and Q-SYS. Support Sales Efforts: Collaborate with account executives to develop proposals, present technical solutions, and respond to RFPs/RFIs. Produce Documentation: Generate system schematics, signal flow diagrams, equipment lists, and infrastructure requirements (AutoCAD/Revit experience is a plus). Client-Facing Presentations: Present and explain AV solutions to clients, architects, and consultants to ensure alignment and buy-in. Stay Ahead of Trends: Evaluate emerging AV technologies and recommend improvements to enhance solution offerings. Ensure Smooth Handoffs: Work with project managers and implementation teams to transition designs into successful deployments, including quality control and technical support. What You Bring 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in AV system design and engineering, with a strong background in client-facing or pre-sales roles. Proven ability to design AV solutions for corporate or commercial environments. Deep familiarity with AV platforms and control systems (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, etc.). Experience supporting sales teams with technical input, solution development, and client presentations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in reading and creating AV schematics and technical documentation. Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word). CTS certification is a plus (CTS-D or CTS-I preferred). A proactive, consultative mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions.
