General Production Worker - Hollow Core Job Description We are seeking a dedicated General Production Worker to join our team. You will be responsible for shoveling wet concrete, manufacturing products, and handling various materials within our new Hollow Core plant. Our facility supports our precast and metals/steel business, and you will play a key role in our operations. Responsibilities Carry out daily production plan as communicated by leaders, focusing on tasks related to panel concrete production. Clean and maintain production beds. Install rebar and strands. Pour and finish concrete. Strip out panels after completion. Patch and repair panels as needed. Be responsible for tools and machinery in your area, including preventative maintenance. Focus on increasing productivity and lowering material cost while maintaining expected levels of quality and communication with superiors. Read work orders to pull necessary parts for various departments. Read blueprints to determine parts needed for upcoming jobs. Accurately read tape measures to ensure correct parts are pulled. Essential Skills 1 to 2 years of experience as a material handler, in a warehouse, with a forklift, or in a construction yard. 1 to 2 years of experience reading work orders to pull parts. 2 plus years of experience reading tape measures to ensure parts are the correct length. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in steel warehouses and inventory control. Knowledge of construction, remodeling, and crane operation. Work Environment This position is based at our smaller location, which employs around 25-30 people and is continuing to grow. The role is part of the 1st shift at our Hollow Core Concrete Plant within the Steel/Metals Facility. The work hours are from 6am until the work is finished, typically around 2pm, 4:30pm, or 5pm, with overtime commonly available in the summer. The metal fabrication shop environment can be dirty, and candidates must be comfortable with this. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and work-appropriate t-shirts or long sleeves (avoid super baggy clothes). Safety glasses and gloves will be provided as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
