Job Title: Superintendent - Roadway Projects

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Superintendent to lead and manage asphalt paving operations on roadway construction projects throughout the St. Louis region. This is a field leadership role responsible for supervising crews, coordinating equipment and materials, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of asphalt paving crews on roadway projects.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Manage scheduling of personnel, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to meet project goals.
• Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and potential issues.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.
• Train and mentor crew members to promote skill development and team cohesion.
• Troubleshoot field issues and implement effective solutions in real time.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and daily reports.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of DOT specifications, asphalt mix designs, and paving equipment.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Proficient in scheduling, time management, and problem-solving.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience operating a paver on an asphalt project.
• Quality control expertise.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
