Salary Range : $110,000 $125,000 (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Project Engineer II to lead and manage capital projects across a wide range of technical areas, including packaging machinery, manufacturing vessels, automation systems, and facilities equipment. This role is critical to the successful execution of infrastructure and equipment projects within a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering experience, proven project management experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through all phases of project executionfrom concept to completionwhile ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

1. Project Management Expertise : Proven ability to lead capital projects from concept through execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination.
2. cGMP Compliance Knowledge : In-depth understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
3. Technical Proficiency : Strong engineering foundation with hands-on experience in packaging equipment, manufacturing systems, automation, and facilities infrastructure.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership : Experience leading diverse teams including internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to achieve project goals.

7. Financial Acumen : Competence in managing capital budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective project delivery.
8. Adaptability & Flexibility : Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and capable of adjusting work schedules to meet project demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership : Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects exceeding $1MM, including planning, design, execution, and closure.
• Technical Execution : Apply industry-standard methodologies and tools across all project phases:
  • Planning & Design : Develop URS, FMEA, RFPs, project scopes, budgets, and milestone schedules.
  • Execution & Implementation : Oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification, decommissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Monitoring & Closure : Conduct after-action reviews, manage change control, and ensure proper project documentation and financial closure.
• Compliance & Safety : Ensure all project activities adhere to cGMP, safety, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Team Collaboration : Lead cross-functional teams including internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
• Financial Oversight : Monitor project budgets, control costs, manage cash flow, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Stakeholder Communication : Provide regular updates to stakeholders, manage project risks and interdependencies, and ensure clear, consistent communication.
• Documentation & Handover : Maintain organized project records and ensure seamless handover to site engineering and operational teams.

Qualifications

• Education : Bachelors degree in Engineering required (Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical, or Engineering Management preferred).
• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in a cGMP or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of packaging and manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with capital project budgeting and financial tracking preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication across all organizational levels. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $60.10/hr.
