THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IS THE RESIDENTIAL DEPARTMENT AT THE LOUISIANA SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT.

The Louisiana Schools for the Deaf and Visually Impaired (LSDVI) includes two Louisiana
Special Schools (LSS) recognized as elementary and secondary school systems. Both schools occupy the same campus servicing students throughout the state who are deaf, hard of hear hearing and/or visually impaired. LSDVI operates seven days a week 24 hours a day on 116 acres and includes 22 building with 486,029 square feet under roof.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
THE APPLICANT THAT IS CHOSEN FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE A PART-TIME BUS DRIVER FOR THE RESIDENTIAL DEPARTMENT.
THE POSITION PROVIDES DIRECT CARE FOR DEAF, HEARING IMPAIRED, &/OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENTS IN A RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT AS A BUS DRIVER.
Position-Specific Details:
Physical Activity Level- 3: Work requires moderate effort for such activities as bending, stretching, stooping walking over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces, or lifting thirty or forty pounds. Work may require brief periods in which heavy muscular exertion is required.
A P and S Endorsement is required to be on your CDL License, if you don't have the endorsement, upon hire, the agency will assist with getting you certified.
A CDL (Commercial Drivers License) is Required.
Preference may be given to applicants knowing American Sign Language and/or Braille.
