  • Reporting to the Mechanical Craft Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of electrical systems and assets throughout the refinery. This position supervises routine maintenance activities and interfaces with turnaround personnel to manage electrical work during turnarounds.

Key activities include:

  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians to ensure high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency in all electrical work
  • Oversee routine electrical maintenance and troubleshoot complex electrical system issues
  • Interface with turnaround personnel to ensure electrical requirements are met during planned shutdowns
  • Provide technical support, training, and mentoring to electrical staff to develop their skills and maintain a high level of operational performance
  • Manage work schedules, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment on-site, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with refinery standards
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to safety procedures, policies, and industry regulations
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to electrical maintenance and inspections
  • Participate in audits and safety inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to resolve all site priorities
  • Responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of routine and turnaround maintenance, while holding the highest regard for Safety Programs, and Operations Integrity
  • Develop, update, and effectively communicate execution plans and maintenance procedures
  • Complete assigned projects, including new equipment installations, existing equipment repairs, and the removal of old systems
  • Monitor the execution of maintenance activities to achieve desired business targets
  • Achieve training compliance for electrical staff
  • Steward and coordinate contractor resources as needed
  • Support the development of employees through training and mentorship

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Minimum of three years of extensive electrical knowledge and experience in refining or equivalent
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting 120-volt AC and 24-volt DC control circuits, 120-volt single-phase and 480-volt three-phase motors, transformers, distribution equipment, and switchgear
  • Experience in both routine maintenance and turnaround environments preferred
  • Able to develop, understand, and follow industrial electrical standards
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with prior supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment and lead a diverse workforce
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to remain flexible, make informed decisions, and stay calm under pressure
  • Strong commitment to safety, with demonstrated troubleshooting and decision-making skills, particularly in pressure situations
  • Ability to understand, control, and drive optimization of maintenance expenses
  • Key competencies include initiative, innovation, interpersonal skills, concern for effectiveness, a drive for continuous improvement, and flexibility
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
