POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works Repairers require a broad knowledge of general maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment in a heavy industry environment including: mechanical, hydraulics, and welding applications.
The Works Repairers' essential functions include:
- Installs, repairs, adjusts, modifies, and maintains all types of mechanical and electrical/electronic instrument equipment, communication systems, and meter relay systems throughout the plant.
- Performs all duties required of plant mechanic, pipefitter, and welder.
- Installs, tests, repairs, inspects, adjusts, and maintains in good working order all types of machinery and mechanical equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, gas, and chemical systems, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems within the plant.
- Repairs, replaces, assembles, disassembles, cleans, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery components, pipe systems and components, hydraulic systems and components, refrigeration/heating systems and components.
- Prepares and mixes agents for refrigeration, coolant, etc.
- Operates equipment to transport, clean, position, install, assemble, disassemble, reassemble, remove, maintain, repair, and test materials, equipment, etc., when required.
- Disconnects, replaces, reconnects motors, solenoids, switches, contracts, and instruments pertaining to air conditioning and heating combination as well as all types of refrigeration units.
- Works from blueprints, diagrams, and charts to install, remove, repair, and maintain plant machinery and equipment.
- Transports equipment to various shops for repair, including but not limited to electric, instrument, etc.
- Operates waste water/sewage disposal plant.
- Inspects, maintains, and operates cranes and inspects and operates mobile equipment. Lubricates equipment in accordance with standard instructions. Checks oil levels with gauges provided on equipment and prepares lubrication reports as necessary.
- Performs work requiring a working knowledge of the welding properties of the various types of metals, welding rods, welding heats, stress relief, allowance for fit-ups and machining and the effect of shrinkage, warpage, and expansion.
- Maintains a high standard of housekeeping and observes all safety procedures.
- Follows good engineering practices to maintain a high level of quality workmanship.
- Entering/completion of Work orders, selling, etc. in CMMS (MAXIMO)
- Other duties as assigned

- This position has been determined to be a safety-sensitive position and requires a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen that includes marijuana.

EDUCATION
- Degree or technical education is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a journey level practical experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Approximately 100% of the job function is required in the plant/machine shop. There is exposure to loud noises, operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- There will be periods of walking and standing.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance.
- The employee is regularly required to reach with arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
