Mechanical Design Engineer

Description

This Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the full product design through completion of the design being released to the manufacturing team. This engineer will work with customers to spec out what they are looking for in their product line and it will be their responsibility to create the product either from scratch or from existing products. They will spend 75% of their time in CAD doing the component and assembly designs within mobile equipment. The other 25% of this individual's time will be spent supporting production and shop for projects. When that is completed they will be responsible for seeing the design through manufacturing to the end customer. This engineer will have to have great communication and teamwork to get the project through to completion.Job Responsibilities: - Create new options for existing products typically at the request of a customer during a rig sale. - Work with a team (sales, production, engineering, vendors/customers) to design and develop new drilling equipment striving for operator's safety, competitive advantages, and overall product/process improvement. - Work closely with electric and hydraulic controls engineers to ensure designs are cohesive and mechanical deisgns. - Review and address engineering change requests from sales, service, and production departments. - Assist internal production and service departments with the implementation and service of new & exisiting designs. - Generate component drawings and BOM's for all rig designs to be procured from outside vendors - Adhere to Laibe Supply Corp/Versa Drill engineering processes and documentationPersonality Requirement: - Detail oriented - Self-motivated- Enjoys working on a small team and wearing many hats - Problem Solver

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.87/hr.
