Job Description
A fast-growing company in the heavy equipment industry is seeking a Lead Mobile Forklift Mechanic to service and maintain equipment in the field. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and mechanically inclined professional with strong problem-solving skills. Communicating effectively, the new team member will support equipment reliability by performing inspections, troubleshooting issues, and completing repairs while working independently, managing time efficiently, and ensuring a high standard of safety and service.
Salary + Additional Benefits:
$35-45/hr.

Location: Houston, TX 77017
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
Travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair forklifts and related equipment (electric, gas, diesel, propane).
Perform routine preventative maintenance in line with OEM specifications.
Troubleshoot complex issues across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair status, timelines, and recommendations.
Use mobile technology to complete work orders, track repairs, and manage service documentation.
Maintain accurate records of parts usage, labor hours, and service history.
Keep company-provided service vehicle clean, organized, and stocked with essential tools and parts.
Follow all company and customer safety procedures while on the job.
Respond quickly and professionally to emergency calls and breakdowns.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical/vocational training preferred)
2+ years of hands-on experience as a forklift, lift truck, or heavy equipment mechanic
Strong understanding of lift truck systems including engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical diagnostics
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Able to work independently in a fast-paced field environment
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
Preferred skills include:
OEM certifications (e.g., Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Raymond)
Experience with mobile diagnostic tools or CMMS platforms
Welding and light fabrication experience
Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred in certain regions)
