Plant Mechanic - Plant Daniel
This position is based in Moss Point, Mississippi
This position will be covered by the memorandum of Agreement between Mississippi Power and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
**Job Requirements**
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on equipment in an industrial environment. The position will be filled at a Journeyman or Apprentice level based on experience in the maintenance of power plant or heavy industrial equipment.
**Job Knowledge**
+ 5 or more years experience as a Journeyman Mechanic preferred
+ Experience repairing industrial boilers preferred
+ Experience repairing pumps, valves, dampers preferred
+ Experience welding (Stick, MIG, TIG) preferred
+ Experience using an oxygen/acetylene torch preferred
+ Experience using precision measurement tools preferred
+ Experience rigging and lifting heavy equipment preferred
+ Must be able to read and understand equipment prints required
+ Must be able to read, understand and apply technical instruction manuals required
+ Must be able to use power and hand tools required
+ Must possess intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, Maximo a plus)
+ Must be able to work in a team environment

+ Understand and follow safety rules
+ Must demonstrate effective communication skills (oral and written)
+ Must exhibit a high degree of flexibility to demonstrate effectiveness in changing priorities and job assignments.
