We are currently looking for a Supervisor Tactical Projects. This position is currently open to any location across the BWP system.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • This position reports to the Sr. Director Field Engineering and Construction.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and supervision to a team of project managers and engineers, with a focus on project scoping, estimating, and execution of critical time sensitive tactical projects. These projects will include a wide range of Integrity projects such as In Line Inspection (ILI) projects, hydrostatic tests, critical anomaly investigations and remediation, pipeline repairs, overpressure protection projects, and other maintenance capital projects across the entire BWP system. This position requires a strong alignment with our BWP culture and will work closely with the entire FE&C Group, Asset Performance, Houston Engineering, Environmental, Land, Safety and Security, Field Operations, and other departments across BWP in scoping, planning, constructing, and maintaining a safe and efficient pipeline system and related facilities in compliance with all company, PHMSA, regulatory, and professional requirements while meeting targets for safety, budget, schedule and completion documentation.
  • Responsible for communicating with all internal and external customers to understand their requirements and to ensure their needs are met in the most timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. This position will also need to become knowledgeable of the entire BWP system and coordinate closely with BWP Field Operations leadership to plan required needs in planning outages and to allow resources to support assigned projects.
  • This position will have an integral role in the evaluation and selection of construction contractors during execution phase to ensure safety, compliance and quality is maintained in all applicable areas.
  • Responsible for employee growth and development of direct reports through effective leadership, motivation, coaching and training, while promoting a strong commitment as Safety being the #1 priority in everything we do at BWP.
  • Responsible for ensuring oversight and management of third-party vendors working across all assigned projects, including managing costs and negotiating discrepancies.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion documentation and as-builts are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the management of alliance relationships including assessing and measuring performance, ensuring safe and high-quality work product and personnel, and resolving issues as they arise for alliance partners and other Contractors across BWP projects.
  • Ensure appropriate Construction participation in planning and constructability reviews at various stages of project development and design.
  • Ensure engineers and project managers work closely with all project team members on issues related to scoping, estimating, schedule, quality assurance, RFIs, Change Orders, and other key issues to assure safe, timely and cost- effective executions and resolutions
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all BWP construction and Contract policies and Boardwalks Integrity Management Program procedures to ensure projects are managed as needed to ensure compliance is maintained during the construction phase.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all OSHA and company safety expectations and ensure projects are managed as manage as needed to ensure compliance is maintained during construction phase.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all Environmental, Land. Safety and Security requirements and ensure projects are managed as needed to ensure compliance during construction phase.
  • Actively promote an atmosphere for continual improvement across all internal and external teams.
  • May be selected to serve on various internal teams and corporate initiatives.
  • May be selected to serve as Company representative on industry related teams such as PRCI, INGAA Foundation and SGA
  • The successful candidate must live somewhere on BWP system.
  • This position requires periodic travel across the BWP system to support planning and execution of assigned projects and requires long days, possibly 6-7 days at times.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design, construction and/or operation of natural gas and/or liquid facilities
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, ability to coach, mentor and guide others at various levels, both internal and external
  • Progressive thinker who can drive a culture with a willingness to search out and embrace technology across his entire team
  • Ability to prioritize projects, deal with interruptions, and plan and execute to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated project management experience on Natural Gas and/or Liquids maintenance and integrity projects
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design standards and natural gas industry codes and regulations such as DOT 49 CFR 191, 192, 193, 195, ASME B31.3 and B31.8, FERC 18 CFR and OSHA.
  • Strong oral/written communication, administrative/organization and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to personal and team safety
  • Ability to drive change and open to improving processes, and constantly seeking means to improve their organization
  • Strong administrative/organizational, problem solving, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulatory codes, standards and requirements
  • Strong computer applications skills including Outlook, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, word and other office applications
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and assignments while working in a high stress environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal direct supervision, self-motivation
  • Ability to read drawings, interpret and implement BWP construction specs, contract documents, drawings, alignment sheets, valve maps, line owner line lists, O&M Manual, etc.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive to stay current on technology, industry standards, materials and regulations
  • Able to travel for extended periods (up to 50%)
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in design, construction and/or operation of natural gas and/or liquid facilities
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role managing direct reports within a natural gas or liquids group
  • Demonstrated active involvement in industry programs, committees and initiatives
  • Proficient in contract development, interpretation, and conformance
  • Proficiency in estimating natural gas and liquids pipelines and facilities

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • BS Engineering Degree in a relevant field

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • PMP
