Ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols, weld components in flat, vertical and overhead positions, lay out, position align and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using straightedges, combination squares, calibers and rulers.
Finish surfaces of material product and re-touch weldsincluding repair, polish and grind. Examine finished work pieces for conformance to quality standards.
Examine work pieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure comformance with specifications. Handle materials by using forklifts and overhead cranes.
Properly maintain and clean the work area, tools and equipment.
recognize, set up, and operate hand power tools common to the welding trade, such as a shielded metal arc and gas welding equipment.
