You will be a crucial part of the Wabtec Bus Solutions division, focusing on the design and development of mechanical products, specifically in the realm of the Transit Bus and Rail industries.

In this on-site role located in Buffalo Grove, IL, you will leverage your five or more years of mechanical engineering experience to create industry-leading solutions. You will design, analyse, and troubleshoot mechanical systems, ensuring they meet customer specifications and performance requirements.

What does a typical day look like?

You will engage in tasks like analyzing product specifications, determining design feasibility, preparing detailed drawings, and conferring with research personnel to resolve any technical challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, with a Master's degree being a plus. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo (Pro E), and experience with finite element analysis are essential.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field

Master's degree is a plus

5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, door systems preferred

Proficient in SolidWorks / Creo (Pro E)

Ability to conduct structural and dynamic analyses

Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
