Key Responsibilities:
Manage project-level accounting for multiple construction jobs simultaneously under a General Contractor structure
Process and review subcontractor invoices and lien waivers; ensure compliance with contracts and project budgets
Prepare and submit monthly pay applications accurately and on schedule, coordinating with project managers and subcontractors
Monitor job cost details, budgets, and commitments; perform percent complete accounting and revenue recognition
Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate tracking of change orders, commitments, and actual costs
Maintain and update job cost reports; analyze variances and provide actionable insights to leadership
Collaborate with the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions
Reconcile project billing and retention, including tracking receivables and coordinating collections as needed
Assist with internal and external audits, providing detailed documentation and support as required
Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations related to project accounting
Required Qualifications:
3-5+ years of project accounting experience in the construction industry
Must have experience working for a General Contractor with oversight of subcontractors and multiple concurrent projects
Strong understanding of monthly pay application processes, AIA billing, and retention tracking
Experience with percent complete revenue recognition and WIP schedules
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required if experience aligns
