**ABOUT THE ROLE**
This is a hands-on skilled Plumbing position which will include, but not limited to, the following:
Perform routine plumbing tasks such as faucet repairs, flush valve replacements, shower repairs, etc.
Layout and install all plumbing systems for new construction and renovations.
Develop/Maintain/ AIDB Drain Line Jetting Schedule. Handle AIDB drain backups.
Install and maintain underground utility lines,
Install water lines (Copper, PVC, PEX, Black Iron).
Do repairs on equipment such as boilers, Kitchen equipment, etc.
Make inspections on plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
Do preventive maintenance on all plumbing systems.
Install and maintain water fountains.
Install/maintain boilers and gas lines.
Maintain Chemicals and associated Pool Equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
**ABOUT YOU**
You will play a vital role to ensure that AIDBs campuses are kept to a presentable standard. You will thrive in a self-driven environment and work equally well with both management and team members.
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**
High School diploma or GED.
Minimum two (2) years of verifiable mechanical experience or education.
Must obtain a State of Alabama Apprentice card within 6 months of hire. Must obtain a State of Alabama Journeyman Plumbing License within 30 months of hire.
Must obtain Certified Pool Operator License within 6 months of hire.
Strong grasp of mechanical and plumbing construction concepts and applicable codes.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints/shop drawings, plans, and specifications.
Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and the integration of the same with mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
Previous experience using excavating equipment.
Must possess a valid State of Alabama Drivers License
Must be able to be insured by the AIDB insurance carrier
Ability to interpret complex laws, codes, and regulations.
Must have the ability to install, diagnose, and repair water heaters, tankless water heaters and boilers.
Physically able to perform assigned duties.
Must be able to work with other trades and departments in a professional manner
Must be able to understand and follow dire tions
Must have the ability and competence to work unsupervised
Must be available for off-duty callback as needed.
Must be able to run gas, water, and air lines of all types.
Ability to troubleshoot any commercial or residential kitchen/laundry equipment.
A sign language proficiency level of SURVIAL according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the thirty (36) months of employment according to the AIDB evaluation system.
Upon being offered employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB."
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
State of Alabama Master Plumbing License
State of Alabama Gas Fitting License
Previous experience using a Sewer Hydro Jetter.
