Summary: Responsible for creating and reading electrical wiring diagrams, supporting manufacturing teams, and improving manufacturing processes for new HVAC equipment. Knowledge of NEC and electrical safety practices required. HVAC electrical controls experience is a plus.

Essential Functions:

  • Generate and verify electrical schematics in AutoCAD.
  • Calculate and validate electrical data (FLA, MOP, etc.).
  • Design and adjust wiring assemblies.
  • Collect and interpret component data.
  • Assist in electrical troubleshooting and testing.
  • Establish and communicate wiring and component installation practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry standards (NEC, UL 60335-1, UL 60335-2-40).
  • Automate electrical wiring diagrams using Lisp routines.
  • Assemble and wire electrical components and perform testing.
  • Recommend improvements in electrical installation.
  • Create processes to streamline engineering workflows and boost collaboration.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain personal protective equipment.
  • Practice electrical safety and stop unsafe acts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with hand tools, gauges, multimeters, and power equipment.
  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Controls Engineering with NEC Certification preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Safety training in arc flash, lockout/tagout, etc.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical circuits (24V AC/DC to 575V).
  • Knowledge of electrical hazards, Lockout/Tagout, and industrial electrical safety.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes (NFPA 70) and ability to read schematics and diagrams.

Safety/Physical requirements:

  • Incumbent must be able to access manufacturing and assembly areas on the shop floor in order to inspect units, investigate problems and/or potential solutions to problems, and to prove out potential solutions to problems.
  • Capable of lifting/moving parts weighing 50 lbs. or less.
  • Requires bending, stooping and standing.
  • Good visual and spatial perception.
  • Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
