Henneman Engineering is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join
our Champaign, Illinois office. You\'ll have the opportunity to be a
part of the mechanical design of exciting, cutting-edge projects in the
healthcare; municipal; and higher education industries in Illinois and
beyond!
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform work as a senior mechanical engineer in all aspects of
project development, including client coordination, pre-design
services, final design services, meetings, site visits, RFIs, change
orders, and overall project management.
- Conceptualize the initial process, mechanical, and plumbing design
approach for projects, having overall responsibility for the
engineering and/or design work related to process, mechanical and
plumbing systems, and code requirements.
- Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare PFDs, P&IDs,
layouts, sections, elevations, and details as appropriate to
document relevant conditions.
- Organize/prepare/review mechanical and plumbing construction
drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as
appropriate), technical specifications, contract documents, and
estimates.
- Develop engineering solutions and designs, cost estimates, bill of
materials, and schedules for projects.
- Have knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to
mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.

- Chilled Water, Refrigeration, & Ammonia Systems
- Compressed Air Systems
- Plumbing & Fire Protection
- Boiler & Steam / Hot Water Distribution Systems
- Heating, Ventilation, & Air-Conditioning Systems
- Water / Wastewater Systems
- Equipment Specification, Evaluation, & Selection
- Life Cycle Cost Analysis & Energy Modeling
**Qualifications:**
- 4-Year Mechanical Engineering bachelor\'s degree from an accredited
University in the United States. Professional Engineer license in
Illinois is highly preferred.
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in a design and
consulting firm such as ours. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and
HVAC design is highly preferred.
