Construction Project Engineer

Job Description

The Construction Project Engineer will apply engineering theory and principles to address industrial layout or manufacturing production challenges. This role requires the ability to create engineering drawings and interpret blueprints effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Study time motion methods and speed involved in maintenance production and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify adherence to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments according to worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Observe workers using equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management, RFIs, change orders, and construction drawings.
  • Experience in large construction projects, particularly in data center, telecom, or hospital construction.
  • AEC engineering degree required.
  • PMP certification is preferred, OSHA certification is preferred.
  • A good variety of trades in the engineering world, including telecom, electrical, and mechanical.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $82.00/hr.
