Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Project Manager that will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of several strategic energy efficiency projects at the client's facility. These projects are designed to reduce energy consumption, optimize HVAC systems, and explore innovative waste-to-energy solutions. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in energy efficiency, project management, and sustainability practices, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline

Role accountabilities:

  • Manage the design and implementation of energy efficiency projects, including:
  • Installation of 2x heat pumps and two thermal storage tanks (estimated $7-$8M project).
  • HVAC air change reductions across three large manufacturing buildings (approximately 170 rooms).
  • HVAC energy recovery systems, including ducting, piping, and coil installations for multiple units (scope to be confirmed).
  • Optional Waste-to-Energy (WTE) project linked to the Waste Water Treatment (WWT) plant.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for all initiatives.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership.
  • Prepare and present detailed project reports, including financial and operational outcomes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop energy-efficient system designs and layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and the client's sustainability goals.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and long-term benefits of proposed solutions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement proactive measures to address technical challenges.
  • Champion the client's commitment to environmental sustainability by identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Monitor the environmental impact of projects and ensure alignment with corporate sustainability targets.
  • Explore additional opportunities to optimize energy usage and reduce operational costs.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and resource allocation efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate procurement activities for equipment, materials, and services.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing large-scale energy efficiency or sustainability projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, energy recovery technologies, and waste-to-energy solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable design principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide legal US work authorization documents required. Will consider US domestic travelers and relocation.
