Position Summar y: The Base Operations Supervisor oversees the daily operations and upkeep of resort grounds, base areas, and facilities to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role includes supervising a team, coordinating snow and waste removal, and ensuring that all public spaces are maintained to high standards in a dynamic mountain environment.If you have a knack for organization and leading by example, this position is tailor-made for you. Flexibility is key, as the role demands weekend and holiday availability during the ski season.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all grounds keeping and facilities operations, ensuring consistent service and safety across resort property.

  • Lead, train, and schedule base operations staff, including assigning daily tasks and managing performance.

  • Coordinate snow removal operations (plowing, shoveling, sanding), ensuring walkways, parking lots, and access points remain safe and accessible.

  • Respond promptly to facilities-related guest concerns and ensure that all areas are safe, clean, and guest-ready.

  • Manage seasonal landscaping, trash removal, signage and cleanliness of all exterior areas.

  • Maintaining weekly staff safety meetings and team meetings to plan for upcoming projects.

  • Partner with Building Maintenance Supervisor to help facilitate repairs to buildings, performing small repairs when necessary.

  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and regulatory requirements; maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and incidents.

Job Scope: The Base Operations Supervisor is responsible for planning, assigning, and overseeing the work of grounds and facilities staff, ensuring all areas of the resort are maintained in accordance with safety, cleanliness, and aesthetic standards. This includes supervising snow removal, trash and recycling operations, restroom upkeep, and general exterior and interior maintenance of public areas. The supervisor will coordinate with other departments to support resort operations and special events , adapting to changing weather and guest volume. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly to operational needs in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

Specific Job Skills:

  • High School degree or equivalent

  • Minimum schedule requirement: 2-3 days per week mainly during peak hours/days

  • Valid US Drivers license

  • Ability to pass MVR & background checks by company standards.

  • Minimum age 21 years old

  • 3 Years minimum supervisory experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point

  • Experience with Workday, EdgeAuditor or Coupa is a plus.

  • Minor maintenance skills necessary .

  • Ability to perform duties with limited supervision

Physical Demands:

  • Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling& prolonged standing

  • Eye/hand coordination & v isual concentration on equipment

  • Concentrated reading and writing

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.

  • Extended periods of outdoor exposure

  • Extreme cold , e xtreme heat and sun exposure

  • Variation in temperature from hot to cold

Supervisory Duties:

  • Oversee a team of 15 crew members

  • Responsible for:

  • Scheduling and assigning work

  • Training

  • Disciplinary actions

  • Performance review

Compensation & Benefit s:

  • Compensation:Proposed hiring rate of $ 25 +/hour, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
