The Building Maintenance Carpenter is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMust possess and be capable of performing minor and routine maintenance/repair involving but not limited to the following daily:
- Demonstrate safety when using construction tools.
- Must be a self-starter and needs to express quality service to our facilities and demonstrate people skills to our associates.
Must possess and be capable of performing minor and routine maintenance/repair involving but not limited to the following on a daily basis.
- Must be able to lift over 50lbs as well as set and climb a 30 extension ladder.
- Finish carpentry skills.
- Applicant will have working knowledge for all construction trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry/concrete and door/window repairs).
- Painting and drywall skills are a must.
- Experienced in VCT and carpet installation.
- Experienced in ceramic wall tile and quarry tile installation.
- Experienced in door and hardware (related items to doors) installations and repairs.
- Knowledge of plumbing and basic electrical skills, stairs, gates, fences, patios, and hand railings installation/repairs.
- Cleaning of rain gutters and downspouts.
- Repairing of doors (metal & wooden), cabinets (metal & wooden).
- Cleaning of ceiling tiles, grills/diffusers, and grid work.
This position does not have any direct reports but will oversee 2-3 internal associates.
Qualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED plus five (5) years' experience in strong carpentry and construction backgrounds. They must demonstrate safety when using construction tools in and around our facilities and associates. In addition, requires computer skills, Microsoft Outlook and Service Now Call Tracking
system with basic operations of iPhone and iPad knowledge.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to read a tape measure, basic math skills, addition/subtraction.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
