The mission of the Department of Corrections is to be a public safety resource for Arkansas families by providing professional management solutions and evidence-based rehabilitative initiatives for offenders.

All DOC positions are designated as Safety Sensitive Positions and are subject to random drug testing pursuant to the Secretarial Directive governing Personnel Drug Testing. Medical marijuana usage, as defined in Amendment 93 of the Arkansas Constitution, prohibits Personnel in a Safety-Sensitive Position from the use of medical marijuana even if they are qualifying patient under the amendment and/or hold a registry identification card. Department Personnel are prohibited from the use or possession of a medicinal marijuana card pursuant to this policy and state law.

Job Summary The Construction Project Coordinator assists in the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring effective communication, scheduling, and documentation. This entry-level role provides foundational support to the construction management team and helps maintain project efficiency and adherence to timelines. Primary Responsibilities Lead and supervise the disability physician specialists and consultants in evaluating medical evidence and making disability determinations.Develop and review policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that medical evaluations are conducted consistently and in line with current medical practices and regulations.Provide expert testimony in administrative hearings and legal proceedings related to disability claims.Oversee the medical review process for complex or high-profile cases.Stay current with medical advancements, research, and legal rulings affecting disability evaluations.Collaborate with other senior staff members to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the disability determination process.Mentor and provide ongoing professional development to staff members in the disability evaluation unit. Knowledge and Skills Basic understanding of construction processes and materials.Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and construction project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).Strong organizational and time-management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to multitask and handle various administrative and coordination tasks.Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to monitor compliance.Familiarity with construction terminology and processes is beneficial. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in construction management or a related field preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in construction support or administrative roles.
