Paint Laborer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Paint Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for painting various products including railings, steps, and steel forms. Your tasks will include preparing metal for painting, using the correct paint equipment settings and adjustments, performing daily maintenance routines on paint equipment, masking areas that are not to be painted, inspecting paint jobs in progress for quality issues, and organizing and maintaining the paint trailer. Responsibilities Prepare metal surfaces for painting. Adjust paint equipment settings for optimal application. Perform daily maintenance on paint equipment. Mask areas not to be painted. Inspect paint jobs for quality during the process. Organize and maintain the paint trailer. Grind, sand, and paint steel beams. Essential Skills Powder coating experience. Ability to use spray guns and work in paint booths. Experience with sanding and grinding. 1+ years of industrial painting experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to use hand and power tools. Preferably 1 year of manufacturing experience. Physical capability to walk, stand, lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. Ability to crawl, climb ladders, and work long hours. Teamwork and attention to detail. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a fully on-site position outside of Carlisle, Iowa. Work in a large concrete building with non-temperature controlled environments, equipped with fans, and break rooms with AC and heaters. Shifts vary between 1st shift (6am until job completion) and 3rd shift (6pm-6am, Monday through Thursday). Dress code includes steel-toed boots and jeans, with safety gear provided. Join a smaller paint team of 5-7 employees, where construction talk and high-performance metrics are part of the daily routine. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlisle, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
