THE WORK
The Global Sustainment (GS) Field Operations Senior Manager will lead a worldwide team that provides sustainment support to all Sikorsky Line of Business (LOB) Programs and Customers. The team consists of Field Service Representatives, Logistic Support Representatives, Field Service Engineers, and Field Maintenance team as well as Aircraft On Ground (AOG) team, VH material handling team, and commercial Forward Stocking Location (FSL) warehouses. Field operations support is a 24/7/365 operation with high demands on the team for responsiveness and technical savvy providing post-sales support and service to customer sites and remote sites at a high-tech level that cannot be rendered by the basic level of field services.
The Field Operations Senior Manager will be responsible for leading the field team to resolve field service inquiries, perform field maintenance and upgrades on customer aircraft, develop aftermarket product improvement initiatives, coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, resolving engineering design and test problems as well as interfacing with functional engineering teams to resolve cases and build inherent team credibility in order to become more self-sufficient. In addition, responsibilities include project staffing to requirements, employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, ex/repatriation of salary employees, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
The Field Operations Senior Manager will collaborate with Global Sustainment Operations teammates and counterparts across RMS as a single COE in support of program objectives and communicate seamlessly with peers, direct reports, and management. They will liaison with Global Sustainment Program Integration and Market Segment Program Management to ensure customer satisfaction and provide information necessary for a close working relationship between Field Service Representatives, Programs, and our external customers. Included in these duties are the responsibility to communicate and coordinate their Market Segment activities and achieve the best utilization of resources within the Field Operations organization. The position will also support the Global Sustainment Program Integration team in new business capture, expansion of existing programs, proposals, strategic initiatives to ensure long term growth, and cost reduction and efficiency improvements for all Field Operations activities and deliverables.
