Woodruff and Smith Heating and Cooling (part of the Greyfox Group of Companies), located in Bethel Park, PA, is looking to hire a full-time HVAC Installation and Service Technicians to represent our customer-focused values while working in our clients' homes and businesses. You will perform maintenance on, diagnose, and repair heating and cooling systems in both residential and commercial environments. Job summary
You will be responsible for ensuring the consistent quality Installation and servicing of residential and commercial HVAC products and equipment at customer sites in compliance with company specifications and customer service standards. This position will include duty during non-business hours (nights, weekends, and holidays) as necessary.
Summary of essential job functions
- Make field visits to residential & commercial sites to install and/or service HVAC equipment to ensure efficient and proper function. Educate the customer on any issues/repairs that may be needed following inspection services and the efficient and proper use of equipment being installed.
- Perform precision tune-ups of HVAC equipment to ensure efficient and proper function. Inspect HVAC equipment for potential defects. Use test equipment to analyze and isolate service problems.
- Perform warranty service repairs.
- Proficient in sales of HVAC equipment and service agreements
- Read and interpret equipment diagnostics, diagrams, and operational/product manuals. Experience with troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide timely completion of all orders for installation and servicing of HVAC equipment and/or proper notification of delays.
- Track hours and materials used and perform data entry on PDA devices. Maintain accurate and complete inventories of all company-issued materials, equipment, and tools.
- Communicate with dispatch and supervisor on status and completion of daily work orders, including check-out on completion of daily work.
- Maintain superior levels of productivity, customer service, and compliance with company quality and safety policies. Demonstrate product knowledge.
- Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance.
- May be required to perform additional work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Minimum requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required. HVAC Trade School Diploma Preferred
- Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.
- Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screening.
Abilities required
- Interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules, and accept constructive feedback. Communicate often with dispatch and supervisors on the status of work.
- Perform mathematical calculations to meet efficiency standards at the customer premise.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think "on-your-feet."
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment
- Must be able to work independently.
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and at any time day or night. Must be comfortable with working outside, as well as inside customer homes or business premises.
- Ability to climb and work in high places (such as rooftops, and ladders) and in tight spaces (such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces).
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds throughout the day. This includes ladders, chemicals, tools, HVAC equipment, and other materials.
- 100% travel within an assigned t rritory
