Bowman has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer II to join our team in either our Lacey or Seattle, WA office.

**Purpose**
Perform the design and provide engineering services as they relate to transportation, infrastructure and land development projects.
**Responsibilities**
**Leadership and Direction**
+ Receive general instruction on key objectives for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially complex assignments, modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. Work is completed using advanced engineering techniques and design principles and is reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound professional judgement. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.
**At the Operational and Company Level**
+ May assist senior level staff or management with clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on moderately complex project issues.
**Do the Work**
+ Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex projects.
+ Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications.
+ Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
+ Complete design work using computer aided software.
+ Prepare reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects.
+ Ability to perform structural inspections, assessments, and preparation of reports.
+ Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
+ May assist senior level staff or management with clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on moderately complex project issues.
+ Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related field required at time of employment.
+ Three or more (3+) years of engineering experience.
+ P.E. registrations required upon availability. S.E. registration or ability to take an S.E exam within one year strongly preferred.
+ Experience with computer applications and design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, AASHTOWare, Con/Span, MDX, STAAD, and Microsoft Office.
+ Proficient reading construction plans and technical writing.
+ Working knowledge of AASHTO Standard Specifications, AREMA, IDOT Bridge Manual, Tollway Structural Manual, ASCE 7.

+ Partially outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
+ Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
+ Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
+ Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
+ Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
+ Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
